COMPLIANCE
Electrical
Electrical items, whether fixed or portable, must be maintained and checked regularly. This falls under the Electricity at Work Regulations of 1989. These tests must be performed by an authorised person or a registered outside party.
Gas systems
Gas forms a part of the building maintenance statutory requirements of the Gas Safety Regulations 1998. All gas systems must be checked a minimum of once a year by an external qualified person.
Fire safety
The Regulatory Reform Order has required that all businesses have an individual responsibility for fire safety. Businesses must regularly inspect all systems to ensure they follow relevant standards.
Air Conditioning
Air conditioning systems form a part of the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations 2007. The size of your units will determine your test cycle. However, this can range from quarterly to annually inspections and must be carried out by a registered third party.
Height Safety
Height Safety Cable Systems and Handrails require inspecting every 12 months under the Working at Height Regulations 2019. Abseiling Equipment, Personal Fall Prevention Equipment and BMUs require inspecting every 6 months under LOLER Regulations.
